The 2014 National Club Relays was held on the Bank Holiday weekend, Sat 23rd – Sun 24th August 2014, at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham.

The event comprised of a 500m open water swim, a 15km (3-lap, flat) cycle and a 5km (1-lap, flat) run. Teams were of four people, and each did the swim in order, then the bike, then the run. i.e. once swimmer no.4 finished, they hand over to cyclist no.1 (who was previously swimmer no.1!). So, you get a bit of rest between each discipline, and it all keeps going until the final runner completes the course. It is completely traffic free, and a great atmosphere.

In 2014, Hillingdon Triathletes had a record entry of 18 teams (that’s almost 72 competitors – but some did double shifts!) up from 16 teams in 2013 which gives you some insight into how popular the event is, with many going back year-on-year.

How did we do?

Female 50+ Vets GOLD with Lesley Levison, Jo Lewis, Christine Meek and Caroline Whittaker.

Male 50+ Vets BRONZE with Jacob Gloor, Peter Mc Dermott, Simon Claridge and Stephen McAlister.

And almost a 3rd podium except for some bad luck as the Female 40+ Vets had a puncture. Unfortunately some outside assistance was received which resulted in a DQ!

You can get the 2014 full results here. Or you can get full historic results in Excel format going back to 2007 right here!

Many many thanks to Mr and Mrs Levison who through their hard work and attention to detail, made the weekend such a pleasure for all.

Wear your Hoodie with pride!
